We're going national baby!  We're going to go LIVE and take LOTS of photos so be prepared!

Each Wind-Down Wednesday is centered around a unique theme, carefully crafted to provide you with valuable insights and connections. From personal growth to career development, our themes cover a wide range of topics, ensuring you always find something relevant and inspiring.  Each event will be a themed potluck where everyone is required to bring a dish.  We will coordinate ahead of time to ensure there isn't duplication and we cover all food allergies of those who have paid for the month.

DISCUSSION TOPIC: Celebrate National Nutrition Month with us as we delve into the world of healthy eating and wellness. Join our discussions on nutritious meal planning, mindful eating practices, and the importance of a balanced diet in fostering a healthier, happier life.

ATTIRE:  Pajama party

MENU THEME:  Salad Bar - Preparing a salad from a variety of fresh ingredients encourages attendees to practice mindful eating, focusing on the flavors and textures of their food. This mindfulness can foster a sense of well-being and reduce stress.

April 24, 2024 - National Poetry Month

DISCUSSION TOPIC: Words take center stage! Join us as we explore the beauty of poetry, from classic sonnets to contemporary verse. Engage in discussions about the power of language, creative expression, and the role of poetry in our lives and society. If you are a poet, now is your time to shine! 

ATTIRE:  Female-inspired Raphael de la Ghetto

MENU THEME:  Comfort Food - Poetry readings can be intimate and emotionally charged events. Comfort foods have a calming and soothing effect, helping attendees relax and feel more at ease during the reading

May 29, 2024 - Mental Health Awareness

DISCUSSION TOPIC: We'll engage in discussions that break the stigma surrounding mental health, share personal stories of resilience, and explore strategies for self-care and emotional well-being using nontraditional strategies and mind-shift.

ATTIRE: Blue with green accents, headbands, scarves - MH Support 

MENU  THEME:  Fatty Fish - Salmon, trout, and sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain health and can help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.

June 26, 2024 - Juneteenth

DISCUSSION TOPIC:  Join us in commemorating Juneteenth, a day of reflection, remembrance, and unity. Our discussion topics will include the historical significance of Juneteenth, its relevance in today's fight for racial equality, and ways to support and empower Black communities.

ATTIRE:  Red, Black, and Green

MENU THEME: Soul Food - Soul food recipes are often passed down through generations, connecting individuals to their ancestors and preserving cultural traditions.  Make sure you have your dish recipe printed out and displayed next to your dish. 

July 31, 2024 - Self Discovery

DISCUSSION TOPIC:Self-Discovery: Filling the Holes of Identity - Encouraging women to embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring their passions, values, and personal identity to fill any gaps in self-awareness.

ATTIRE:  Authentic Style - Show us YOU

MENU THEME:  Sushi Rolls - Sushi represents the idea of balance and harmony. Just as sushi combines various ingredients to create a harmonious bite, self-discovery involves finding balance and alignment in one's life. *if you have allergies or do not eat seafood, please let us know in your registration form*

August 28, 2024 - Black Business Month

DISCUSSION TOPIC: Black Business Month:  Tell us about your business and offer samples, or discounted products to the ladies and staff to celebrate Black Business Month. Pitch your business to the group!  Each participant will have 7 minutes and can use any visual aids they need/want.

ATTIRE: Rep your business t-shirt or uniform

MENU THEME:  Local Black-Owned Restaurants - Smorgesboard style. 

September 25, 2024 - National Hispanic Heritage Month

DISCUSSION TOPIC: Education and Awareness: Discussing the need for education and awareness within both communities to challenge stereotypes, dispel myths, and promote empathy and understanding.

ATTIRE: Sombrero Day

MENU THEME:  Taco/Burrito Bar - By offering a diverse selection of these dishes, we can create a menu that reflects the vibrant and diverse culinary traditions of Hispanic and Latino cultures,

October 30, 2024 - Global Diversity Awareness Month

DISCUSSION TOPIC: Cultural Diversity and Inclusion: Promoting discussions on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in various areas of life, such as workplaces, schools, and communities.

ATTIRE:  Anything Orange (represents cultural diversity) 

MENU THEME:  Food Passport - Attendees will be given a "food passport" where participants can collect stamps or stickers from each international food station they visit. This encourages exploration and engagement and there will be a door prize at the end.

November 27, 2024 - Women Supporting Women

DISCUSSION TOPIC: Women Supporting Women: Exploring the power of women supporting and uplifting each other in matters of life and love, fostering community, and discussing the benefits of peer support and collective empowerment.

ATTIRE: Pink/Barbie-inspired 

MENU THEME: Dream Pizza - Create your own dream pizza at our pizza station and then find another woman to share it with!
